Our bodies are amazing! They have the innate capacity to discharge traumatic stress and recover from overwhelming experiences. Sadly, our clever neo-cortex often gets in the way as it plans, anticipates, and makes patterns out of experiences that don’t always belong together. The good news is that many of our daily practices, ancient strategies and conventional wisdom can help us re-establish a sense of calm and safety. Join me in an exploration of Somatic Experiencing, current theories and interventions in treating trauma and discussions on anxiety, depression, trauma, resilience and recovery from various life stressors.
